Sure, you can buy any magic tricks imaginable - if you’ve got the money. So if you want to saw a woman in half - no problem. Any magic shop can sell you the boxes or drawings. This is because all magic shops live by the motto: Show me the money!

2. You don’t have to be a magician to buy magic tricks
You don’t have to be a magician to buy magic tricks. You can just walk right into a magic shop and start buying whatever you want. How do you think people became magicians in the first place?

Sometimes you pay hundreds of dollars and all you get is a simple explanation and strange looking gimmick. Often there is a huge difference between what you think you get and what you get. You may be disappointed…

If you are a beginner in magic you might feel like you’ve been cheated, but often you haven’t. What you pay for is the idea and the secret.

Personally, I’m satisfied if I just get one tiny idea from a DVD or one new magic trick from a whole magic convention. That’s enough for me. But I’m also a pro.

Nearly all large cities have their own magic shop. If you want to find your local magic shop, you can always look it up in the yellow pages or on the Internet.

In a magic shop you get the chance to see, try and feel the magic trick. Often the owner will demonstrate the magic trick and if you purchase it - he will often teach you the trick.
I think it is important to find your own magic dealer. In time this will save you a fortune. Because you and your own magic dealer know if the latest hot magic trick really is something for you.

You want to be a part of the magic community. It is a lot of fun and you can meet a lot of very interesting people. Start by finding your local magic club and magic shop, both have knowledge about magic events and magicians in your neighbourhood.

1. Phone the local magician.
Tell him who you are. Tell him you’re curious, a beginner and want to watch him perform magic. Ask if you may come and watch his next performance.

You must understand, for the majority of professional magician, it is a lonely job. We are doing everything by ourselves and alone. We are alone on the road, always on our way to a new gig. No colleagues to talk to. Chances are he wants you to come with him on his next magic gig, if you sound like a nice guy.

2. Find you local cave of magic
All major cities around the world have their local cave of magic. It is a place where the magicians hang out and show off their latest magic tricks. Often it is connected to a magic shop or a public bar. You will have to find out. Ask around. Remember the good lord gave you a
mouth to use. So start asking at the magic shop, the magic club and other magicians.

You only have to learn 7 simple magic tricks to build up your own magic show.

There is an old saying among magicians, that an amateur knows thousands of tricks and a professional magician only knows 7 magic tricks.

It is absolutely true for the majority of professional magicians. Naturally most magicians know thousands of tricks. But when it comes to actually performing, they do the same seven every time. These are the ones they have performed for years and truly master. From this point of view it is not that overwhelming to build up a magic show. You just have to find your seven magic tricks.
